Race report
Magnus Cort, Romain Grégoire, Thibault Guernalec, Arjen Livyns, Mason Hollyman, and Alessandro Fancellu establish the breakaway early on. The six open up a 6 minutes lead in the approach to the Col du Granier.

The gap falls by 2 minutes on the climb before Guernalec and Hollyman lose contact after missing a corner. Guernalec makes it back, Hollyman doesn’t.

While the peloton closes in on the finish climb, Grégoire is the last man standing.

Laurens De Plus attacks from the peloton with 5 kilometres to climb. Aleksandr Vlasov goes after him en two gobble up Grégoire.

Giulio Ciccone strikes 3.5 kilometres from the finish with Primoz Roglic in his wheel. Derek Gee, Matteo Jorgenson, and Carlos Rodriguez follow the move a little later. Remco Evenepoel cracks.

The chasers come back on De Plus and Vlasov before the Russian goes again with his leader Roglic and Ciccone.

Vlasov empties the tank for Roglic, who accelerates in the last few hundred metres. Ciccone can’t follow, and the Slovenian powers to the stage win and leader’s jersey.

Evenepoel crosses the line in 42 seconds later and drops to second place, while Jorgenson remains third.
