Critérium du Dauphiné 2022 Route stage 4: Montbrison - La Bâtie d’Urfé
Wednesday 8 June - In the middle of the Criterium du Dauphiné we'll see a flat individual time trial. The race adds up to 31.9 kilometres.
An ITT of almost 32 kilometers long, it’s rare these days. But, obviously, this is good news for pure specialists.
Last year’s time trial on the Dauphiné was much shorter, and hillier. Alexey Lutsenko took the spoils ahead of Ion Izagirre and Kasper Asgreen.
The route between Montbrison and La Bâtie d’Urfé is straightforward. Just a few sharp turns. Most of the time it’s a matter of pushing the big gear on long straight roads.
The riders storm past the intermediate time checks at kilometre 11.6 and kilometre 21. The second is in Chalain-d’Uzore, which is the highest point en route, at an elevation of 408 metres. It is situated at the end of the only (slightly) uphill sector of the day.
