paris nice 2014Sergio Henao won the 75th edition of Paris-Nice 2 seconds ahead of Alberto Contador. In the last stage, the Spaniard attacked with two mountains to go. For a moment he was in winning position, yet Henao came back in the descent of the Col d’Eze. (Slideshow route/profile)

Stage 8 is a short race with five tough climbs. Contador attacks with two climbs to go and after compelling racing he finishes in second. Yet, he ends the Race to the Sun 2 seconds down on winner Sergio Henao.

The Queen Stage in Paris-Nice travels to the Col de la Couillole, peaking at an elevation of 1,678 metres. Richie Porte goes solo with 3 kilometres remaining and soloes to victory ahead of Alberto Contador and Dan Martin. Sergio Henao comes in fourth to take the leaders jersey.

The 192 kilometres route of the 6th stage in Paris-Nice taking in six climbs, while the summit finish is on a punchy climb in Fayence. Simon Yates goes on the attack on the penultimate climb to solo to an impressive victory. Sergio Henao comes in second, while Julian Alaphilippe holds on to the leaders jersey.

The route of stage 5 in Paris-Nice amounts to almost 200 kilometres. The race boils down to a bunch sprint in Bourg de Péage with Andre Greipel fastest. The German bests Démare and Groenewegen on the line, while Julian Alaphilippe retains in the overall lead.

The individual time trial in Paris-Nice is played out on a hilly route with a punchy finale. Julian Alaphilippe powers to an impressive win, thus taking the leader's jersey. Alberto Contador finishes in second and is forced to chase if he is to win his third Race to the Sun ever.
